SavePoint v1.57.1 Release Notes

We are proud to introduce a release that makes SavePoint available on every major operating system. A new command-line install runs SavePoint directly on macOS, Linux, and Windows Subsystem for Linux, so the platform is no longer tied to the Windows desktop app that used to be its only entry point. This release also brings a fully integrated chat management system that pulls Discord, YouTube, Twitch, and Kick into one page for reading, sending, scheduling, and moderating, and it translates the entire interface into nine languages.

What's New

Run SavePoint on Any Operating System

Until this release, the Windows desktop app was the only way to run SavePoint. This version adds a command-line install that runs SavePoint directly on macOS, Linux, and Windows Subsystem for Linux, using the same broadcast engine as the Windows app. Download the source package, run a couple of commands, and your station runs natively on whatever machine you already work on: an Apple Silicon Mac, a Linux server, or a WSL environment on Windows.

This turns SavePoint from a Windows-only application into one that runs almost anywhere. Wherever you operate your station from, there is now an install path for it, and the download page carries the source package next to the Windows installer.

A Fully Integrated Chat Management System

Chat Explorer is a fully integrated chat management system that gathers the chat from every connected platform into one place. The inbound feed merges Discord, YouTube, Twitch, and Kick, so you read a single conversation instead of switching between windows. The compose bar sends one message to every platform you choose, and it tracks each platform's rate limits and daily quotas for you so a burst of announcements does not get you throttled.

Scheduling and Moderation

You can schedule messages ahead of time and manage them from a queue, which is useful for event reminders, hourly station IDs, or a welcome message timed to the start of a segment. Moderation is built in and works across platforms: right-click any message to delete it, time a user out, or ban them where the platform supports it. Every action lands in a Moderation Log so you and your co-hosts can see what happened and who did it.

Pinned and Notes Lanes

Two lanes on the side help you hold onto what matters while the conversation keeps moving. Pin any message to the Pinned lane to keep a song request, a question, or a shout-out you want to answer on air. Next to it, a Notes lane lets you write free-form notes as the stream runs, so the things you notice in the moment are still there afterward when you sit down to synthesize what your community asked for and responded to.

Internationalization and Multi-Language Support

SavePoint is now fully internationalized. Every page, dialog, button, and setting is translated, so an operator can run the entire application in their own language from onboarding through a live broadcast. The nine languages are English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Korean, German, and Hebrew, which reach a large share of the world's audience, and Hebrew renders right to left automatically.

Language works at three levels:

1. 01.Each user picks their own language in their profile, and it follows them across devices.
2. 02.A station owner sets an organization-wide default, so brand-new sessions and new sub-accounts start in the right language before anyone signs in.
3. 03.On the desktop app, a fresh install reads your operating system language and starts there, with no flash of English first.

Copy Your Public Stream Link

The Broadcast Control card now shows a copy-ready public viewer link for Mixcloud, Kick, and Twitch, the same way it already did for YouTube. When a channel goes live, grab the link straight from the card to drop into a Discord post, a tweet, or your show notes.

Misc. Bug Fixes

• Kick chat could go quiet while your broadcast kept running normally. A background sign-in refresh would fail once and then get stuck, so chat and track announcements stopped even though the video feed was fine. The refresh path now clears that stuck state and reconnects on its own.
• Stopping a broadcast during the final track's announcement window used to drop that last chat announcement silently, so operators saw chat go quiet on their closing track with no explanation. Pending announcements now go out when you stop the broadcast.
• Segment-level backgrounds could render as a black screen. The pre-render queue was losing track of which segment a job belonged to; it now keeps that context so the right background shows.
• Settings tab labels overlapped each other on narrower windows. Below about 1024 pixels the row now collapses cleanly to icons instead of running the labels together.

Major Milestone

What began as a Windows-first application is now available on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with support for nine widely used languages.

When we expand support across major operating systems and introduce internationalization, we make SavePoint more accessible and useful to broadcasters around the world.

Updating

Download the latest SavePoint Station Manager from the download page, or use in-app update if you are already on the desktop build. On macOS, Linux, and WSL, install from the command line using the new source package. Server deployments pick up the new features on first boot after an update, and database migrations apply automatically.
