SavePoint Broadcast Software Now Supports Cooperative Live Streaming

We are proud to present member-owned live segments in SavePoint v1.47.1.

This release is part of a larger attempt to bring traditional radio culture into the modern streaming era. A real station has a schedule. People show up for their time. A host owns the hour they were given. The station carries the program, the audience knows where to go, and the day keeps moving.

SavePoint now brings that pattern to internet broadcasting.

How a Member-Owned Segment Works

A station owner can assign a scheduled segment to a station member. During that window, the member broadcasts live into the station from their own setup. Their PC becomes the studio. Their microphone, scenes, overlays, playlist, and production workflow stay with them.

The station software remains the shared broadcast layer. It is reachable from the web, controlled through SavePoint, and connected to the destinations the station already uses.

The member opens OBS, or any broadcasting software that supports RTMP, enters the connection details for their segment, and goes live when their block begins. SavePoint carries that feed through the station and routes it to every connected destination already attached to the broadcast.

When the segment ends, the station returns to its scheduled programming automatically.

Channels Built for Segment Ownership

SavePoint Broadcast Software was built around the idea that a channel can carry traditional segment ownership in a modern way. The schedule still belongs to the station, and the block still belongs to the host who was assigned to it. What changes is how that host arrives to claim it. The result opens room for all kinds of branded creative experiences to emerge, and puts a new spin on what it means to run a live channel.

A cooking show can own Monday afternoon. A panel podcast can own Wednesday evening. A gaming block can own Friday night. A community music program can own Saturday morning. Each segment can have its own member, its own live setup, and its own place in the week while the station keeps one schedule and one broadcast path.

That is the important cultural shift.

The pattern stretches further than a single host on a single block. A gaming clan can use the schedule to rotate player streams across the week, with different members holding different time slots. Music labels can rotate live DJ sets through prime hours and backfill the off hours with content from their artist lineup. Streamers and influencers can claim their own live windows, sponsor guests into those windows, and let re-airs from their archive cover the rest of the day so viewers always have something to land on.

The possibilities are endless, and the format is more relevant than ever in a content-driven society.
